Make a complete item list

Walk through the rooms, garage, or storage area and note the bulky items, boxes, and loose material that should go. Photos help show the volume and any unusually heavy or awkward items. If the job is an estate or large home cleanout, identify what stays before loading starts.

Explain the access

Tell us where the truck can park and whether there are stairs, elevators, long hallways, gates, or a long carry from the item to the truck. If a condo requires an elevator booking or loading-zone reservation, arrange that for the pickup window.

Set aside restricted items

Do not mix paint, chemicals, batteries, propane, fuel, asbestos, or medical waste into an ordinary junk pile. Drywall, roofing, soil, concrete, and other renovation debris also need to be discussed before booking. The CRD household hazardous waste guide explains local options for many of those items.

Confirm the scope and price

Our full-service rate is $120 per hour for two men and a truck, plus the dump fee. Ask which items are included, where the crew will load from, and how disposal costs are estimated. If the pile grows after the quote, tell us before the visit so the plan can be updated.

Be ready to direct the crew

Have someone who knows the keep-and-remove decisions available at the start of the job. Keep keys, documents, valuables, and items to retain well away from the removal pile.

Tell us about your pickup. If you want to load debris yourself over several days, see our 20-yard bin rentals. Uptown Disposal & Bins is a sister company of Uptown Moving.
